Vice-Chancellor

Pacific Adventist University is seeking qualified applicants for the important position of Vice-Chancellor. This exciting leadership role would be based at Koiari Park, located in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

The Role of the Vice-Chancellor is to:

1. Give direction, leadership and general supervision to the program at Pacific Adventist University and vision its future in a way that promotes the wellbeing of the University.
2. Personally affirm the complete message of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and be wholly committed to the aims and objectives of the Church and its mission.
3. Encourage and model the pastoral role for the University faculty and staff in the religious instruction and spiritual nurture of the students at the University.

Qualifications required:

1. An active relationship with Jesus Christ, characterised by a deep desire for worship and service to God.
2. Baptised membership in the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission.
3. Appropriate academic qualifications to the doctoral level
4. Eligible for appointment to the academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor, including a publication record with refereed journals.
5. Current Seventh-day Adventist Church missionary/ministerial/teaching credentials.
6. A sound working knowledge of the church and its management throughout the South Pacific.
7. Extensive experience in Tertiary Education, preferably at the university level.
8. Extensive experience in administration, preferably including educational administration and curriculum development.
9. Extensive experience in a multi-cultural environment, with demonstrable people skills including the ability to relate well to young people.
